Bentonite is a natural and finite mineral resource. Dilute suspensions of sodium montmorillonite clay in water represents bentonite slurries. Suspension orientation colloidal particles define rheological properties slurry (BS). The BS has been used about seventy years to temporarily support the excavations. More recently, polymer fluids (PSF) gained much popularity are widely compared fluids. PSF categorized into (pure) synthetic polymers. Physico-chemical different than irrespective quite similarity mode action. Synthetic molecularly engineered that can be popular alternative conventional deployed as excavation foundation applications such diaphragm wall panels pile bores. synthetically polymers (water-soluble) from BS. offer additional benefits because their use cost effective, eco-friendly, these need smaller site footprint well easy preparation, mixing, handling, management ultimately final disposal. Nevertheless, have advantage over bentonite, however, engineers scientists also certain concerns performance related issues.
